Ex-Ranza (エクスランザー) is a side-scrolling platformer–shooter developed by Gau Entertainment and published by Sega for the Mega Drive in Japan in May 1993. The game was released as Ranger X in North America and Europe by August 1993.

    Development Notes

Gau Entertainment, the developer of Ex-Ranza, was purchased during its development of Ragnacënty by Nextech, at that point either an affiliate or partly owned subsidiary of Sega, in April 1994.[2]

Dogen Shibuya, a sound effect programmer for Land Stalker: The Emperor's Treasure, Shining Force, and other early Shining games, has a sound driver credit on Ex-Ranza. The Cube sound driver used in Ex-Ranza is also used in Ragnacënty.
