Cyril (シシル, Shiriru, EN: Cyrille) is a character from Shining Force EXA. She was chosen to be a heritor by the holy sword, Shining Force, several years before the beginning of the game. As a member of the group comprising Toma, Gadfort, and Mabel, she tries to prevent them from finding Shining Force for fear that it will result in the reawakening of Malxatra, the god of sacrifice. She initially believes that Toma has selfish intentions so even after he draws Shining Force, she tries to prevent him from reactivating the Geo Fort's functions until she realizes that he wants to use his power to end the war between the Noswald Empire and Fialand.

Design Work

The heroine gave me a lot of trouble and I redrew her over and over again. I think I decided on her final design after work had already started on her character model. I was asked to make her skirt go above her knees for the convenience of the model. I adjusted the size of her chain while looking at her 3D model.

ヒロインはとにかく悩んで、どんどん改造を重ねていきました。最終的なデザインが決まったのは、モデリングデータが作られ始めてからだったと思います。スカート丈はモデリングの都合上、膝上丈にしてほしいというリクエストがありました。鎖なんかはデータを見ながら太さを整えましたね。

Concept Work

The designs were made according to a prompt from Hino: "She's from a cold country, intellectual, cool, seems high class, like a Siamese cat?" We almost decided on the design with a fluffy fur coat (early draft E), but it was just too gaudy so we went with her final design.

「寒い国出身、知性的でクール、高級感、シャム猫?」といった火野さんのイメージワードからデザインをまとめていただきました。コートにフサフサのファーがついたバージョン(初期案E)でいったん決定しかけたのですが、ゴージャスすぎるので最終デザインに落ち着きました。
