Gantz

Gantz (ガンツ, Gantsu) is a character in Shining Force who has the appearance of an armadillo in a steam suit. Gantz is first seen in Lindlind before joining Max's company in Pao.

Gantz is found in Dr. Clock's house helping him test his steam suit. After taking a few steps, the suit fails and Gantz is no longer able to move due to the weight of the suit and Dr. Clock laments the stingy nature of Lindlind's chairman who refused to offer more money for the project. Later, Gantz is found in a paopabu pen in Pao, distressing the paopabu and their caretaker.

TL	Ooh, it's heavy! Ooh, it's so heavy!

JP	はつめいのてんさい！　クロックのいえにようこそ！
TL	I am the inventor genius! Welcome to Clock's house!

JP	ちなみに　わしがクロックじゃ　よかったら　わしのつくったけっさく　スチームスーツ　を見ていきなさい
TL	By the way, I am Clock. Take a look at the masterwork steam suit I made if you like.
Dr. Clock
JP	これガンツ!　あるいてみるんじゃ!
TL	Hey, Gantz! Try to walk!
Gantz
JP	こんどは　だいじょうぶなんですか？　ホントに　うごくんですか？
TL	Is it really safe this time? Can I really move?

JP	バカ者！　このクロック様を　しんようできんのか！　さっさと　あるけ！
TL	Fool! How can you lack confidence in the great Clock! Walk at once!

JP	う　うごかなくなった・・・　ま　まただよ・・・

JP	スチームスーツは　みかんせいじゃ　とちゅうで　金がそこをついての
TL	The steam suit is incomplete. I ran out of money halfway through.

JP	ぎちょうに　金をかりようとしたが　あのケチ　あいてにもしてくれん！　まったく　しつれいなヤツよ！
TL	The chairman invested money in this, but he’s so miserly that I ended up getting burnt! He’s such a rude guy!

JP	よお　おれはリンドリンドのガンツだ　国のみんなにたのまれて　あんたの　おうえんにきたんだ！　見てくれよ　このスチームスーツ！
TL	Yo! I’m Gantz from Lindlind. I came to help you. Everyone in the country asked me to! Hey, take a look at this steam suit!

JP	よお　ひさしぶりだな！　わすれちまったのかい？　おれだよ　リンドリンドで会ったガンツだよ！　見てくれよ　このスチームスーツ！
TL	Yo! It’s been a while! Haven’t forgotten about me, have you? It’s me, Gantz! We met in Lindlind! Hey, take a look at this steam suit!

JP	どうだい？　ちゃんとうごけるだろ？　ようやくできあがったんだ！　さあ　ひとあばれしようぜ！
TL	How about that? I can really move, huh? Finally! Let’s get violent!

JP	おれは　ほんじんに行ってまってるぜ　いつでも　こえをかけてくれよな
TL	I’m going to wait at headquarters. Give me a shoutout whenever.

TL	(Choo-choo!) It’s in good shape! Just did an overhaul. Mmm, this is the best feeling.

JP	「シュポーシュポー」　おれのスチームエンジンが　あつく　もえてるぜ！
TL	(Chugga, chugga, choo-choo!) My steam engine is burning hot, man!
Gantz (on boat)
JP	おれは　うみはキラいだ！　だって　エンジンやアーマーが　サビついちまうだろ
TL	Man, I hate the sea! Just think, my engine and armor are gonna get all rusty, y’know?
